How much does tiling cost in Malaysia?
Tiling cost depends on tile type, area size and whether you are retiling or installing new. Basic ceramic tile installation ranges from RM 6–12 per sq ft, porcelain from RM 8–18 per sq ft, and premium tiles higher. Retiling adds removal and disposal costs. We provide a detailed itemised quote after a free site visit.
How long does tiling take?
A standard bathroom (about 50 sq ft) takes 2–3 days. A full condo (800–1,200 sq ft) takes 5–10 days. Larger landed properties can take 2–3 weeks depending on scope. We confirm the timeline in your quotation.
Do you remove old tiles?
Yes. We remove old tiles, dispose of debris and prepare the surface properly before installing new tiles. This is included in your retiling quotation.
Do you provide the tiles or do I buy them?
Both options work. We can recommend tiles from trusted suppliers and include them in your quotation, or you can purchase your own tiles and we install them. Most clients prefer us to supply for a single point of responsibility.
Do you waterproof under tiles?
Yes — for all wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens, balconies) we apply waterproofing membrane before tiling. This is critical in Malaysia's humid climate to prevent leaks and mould.
What grout do you use?
We use cement grout as standard and epoxy grout for wet areas and premium finishes. Epoxy grout is more water-resistant, stain-resistant and durable — recommended for bathrooms and kitchens.
Can you tile over existing tiles?
In some cases yes, if the existing tiles are firmly attached and level. However, removing old tiles usually gives a better and longer-lasting result. We advise after inspecting the surface.
